Carice van Houten:
"I like to challenge myself."
Lesson Learned: Carice van Houten
Carice van Houten likes to make things difficult for herself. She loves to tackle the impossible, prefers to play roles she has to ‘fight’ with and therefore regularly steps out of her comfort zone. Often without a plan or strategy but always on feeling and intuition. “I like to challenge myself. I want to feel that I am alive,” says the actress.
At the YEARTH Campus, which was transformed into a candy paradise for this “sugar addict,” Carice and Erik engage in conversation. They talk about corona year, motherhood and Man-Up. This production company she founded with Halina Reijn. With it, they offer viewers more female perspective, with films and series such as Instinct and Red Light.
Of course, her Lesson Learned also comes up in the conversation. “Especially in a situation that is challenging for me, I should not assume that others can guess what I am thinking. I have to communicate clearly myself and make it clear what I want.”
